Summer Styling Session: The Boho Chic Bride

Remember a few weeks ago when we cast a poll on Instagram stories about which gown we should feature on an upcoming styling session? Well, you all spoke and our Willowby gown “Corella” was the crowd pick but only by a hair. It was so exciting to see the back and forth as you voted for your favorite boho gown. Corella is a simple silhouette featuring a V-neck fit-to-flare embroidered overlay with a simple sheath slip underneath. This laid back gown has plenty of wow-factor from the gorgeous Penta Embroidered fabric to the dramatic cutaway train. Often a gown like “Corella” makes such a statement all its own that we don’t see it necessary to go too crazy with accessories.

The simplicity of a hair wrap or gorgeous jewelry allows the lace to show but doesn’t feel too busy. We love the rose-gold metal on this Untamed Petals hair wrap.

Choosing whatever makes you feel like a bride is key in completing your wedding day look. Your accessories can really showcase your favorite details or make others feel more subtle. We also love when brides think outside the box! Take a peek at the way Watters styled Corella for their editorial photo shoot.

A cowboy hat and some turquoise jewelry take Corella in a totally different direction and we LOVE it. With accessories that reflect your personal style, you take your gown and make it your own.

The votes were so close we decided to share some gorgeous details for Tara Lauren’s Farrow gown as well. Farrow has a similar vibe with the bold embroidery over nude lining. Some differences include layered lace which creates extra depth and detail through the body and the skirt. A subtle layer of chantilly lace lies under the embroidered overlay. The bodice of Farrow is sheer (which can of course be lined) and this creates a little more waist definition and emphasizes the fit through the hips more dramatically.

We chose to add a little extra glamour to the styling of Farrow with more sparkle in the jewelry and accessories. One of our favorite things to say is you can never be too dressed up for your own wedding. So if you love a boho gown but glam accessories, we say glam it up!

With a defined waistline, we are able to add a skinny belt which cinches the waist, but more importantly doesn’t take away from the gown’s detail.

We love how both of these gowns have a bold, embroidered pattern on an overlay with nude lining, however either can come in ivory as well for a more traditional bridal feel. No matter how you decide to style and accessorize your wedding gown, don’t lose yourself or compromise what makes you feel like a bride! We look forward to helping you put together your wedding day look.
