One of our personal favorites, Andrea Deschaine of Branches & Twigs, creates beautiful and timeless floral arrangements and bouquets. Her lovely creations help to set the tone for the environment of the wedding day- bringing life and color to chapels and event spaces. Enjoy getting to know Andrea a little better and if you haven’t booked your florist yet, be sure to give her a call!
How did you get into the bridal floral business? I was introduced to flowers by my sister-in-law who was doing flowers for weddings and I fell in love. It was a good time in my life for a transition and things just fell into place!
How many years have you been in the industry? It has been 9 years already.
What is your favorite part of your job? There are too many parts that I love. From meeting really amazing people at one of the happiest moments in their life to designing one of a kind arrangements in the studio, I am just really lucky to have a job that I truly enjoy. If I had to pick one thing, I guess I would say the wedding day, once the last flower is placed and the candles are all aglow, it is very satisfying to know that it has all come together as the bride and I intended and usually better than I imagined!
What do you think is the best thing you have to offer to your clients? I feel that we are a really unique design studio in that each bride is working directly with the owner of the company with one vision consistent throughout the process, but with the support of a full staff to design, install and execute perfectly. We can be completely full service or we can simply do your personal flowers. We pride ourselves in working with all types of budgets and never under delivering.
How would you describe your artistic style? We have a very traditional and timeless look and feel, but with a modern edge. Of course we are very up to date on the latest trends, color schemes and styles, and some of our work is trendier, but usually our pieces are something a bride can look back and say “I loved my flowers” instead of “what was I thinking?”
What do you do in your free time- just for fun?! I spend all of my free time with my family and good friends. I have four young daughters who keep me pretty busy and when I get a chance. . . I love to cook, garden and remodel our home.
