Runway to Your Wedding Day

Fall Fashion Week is barely over- and while we are still taking in new trends and how they translate, the designers are already redefining next seasons styles. So in order to catch up, what do these cutting edge and quite often outlandish looks mean for bridal? Here are a couple fresh new ideas that I am particularly interested in getting our brides into this season.

Modern Trousseau's "May"

Polka Dots!
Marc Jacobs and Catherine Malandrino are using polka dots in original ways that keep my head turning! From textured polka dots on berets to dresses fashioned out of cut out dots. This somewhat retro print graced the runways of some of my favorite designers. So while I love a sweet swiss dot dress, I was so excited to see my new favorite Modern Trousseau gown, May, arrive for our trunk show last weekend. With woven polka dots on beautiful silk organza, this fit-to-flare gown will flatter the bride with an eye for fashion!

High Hem Low Hem

Peppermint Pretty’s “Hello Dolly”

Another daring and fun trend is the “Mullet Hem” or High Hem Low Hem dress. Perfect for an outdoor or destination wedding, this dress is not just for the bride who can’t decide what she wants to wear on her wedding day. Up-and-coming designer Peppermint Pretty has embraced this look with her gowns “Hello Dolly” and “Stella by Starlight.” My favorite way to describe this style is the short hem is flirty while the long train is regal; isn’t this how so many brides want to feel on their BIG day?

So designers, keep working away at styles for next spring and the seasons to come. We can’t wait to see hot trends on the runway and on our Real Brides!
