Real Bride: Jentry N.
From the Bride:
How they met:
Daniel and I met through a mutual friend at a Christmas party several years ago. He started Facebook messaging me and eventually asked me to coffee. We went on several more casual dates and made our relationship official on Valentine’s Day. He went off to get his MBA at UCLA, so we did long distance for a year.
After a weekend visit, he was dropping me off at LAX airport and I was sobbing uncontrollably in his passenger seat. I was tired of distance, I missed him and I did not want to leave! Through tear-filled eyes, we hugged and kissed goodbye and I checked into the airport and found my gate. I was sad, depressed and needed to walk, so I started walking the length of the airport gates near mine and put in my earbuds to listen to a podcast.
A few minutes later, I hear my name “Jentry! Jentry”, I turned around and saw Daniel standing a few feet away – flushed and nervous looking. I paused and said “What are you doing here?”. The next thing I know, he was taking off his backpack and getting down on one knee. I saw a glistening diamond ring in his left hand and caught a few Southwest Employees filming the whole thing on the side. He said “Jentry Elizabeth Newth, will you marry me?” and I said “Is this a dream?” after realizing that this was, in fact, happening I squealed YES!! He then told me that he was on my flight! Coming home to KC with me! All of our family was waiting at a favorite restaurant to celebrate with us. It was a dream!
We planned our wedding in six months, just in time to get married by September and move out to LA where he will finish his MBA. I have always wanted to get married outside, and the Timber Barn in Weston is beautiful!
I found my dreamy dress at Altar Bridal – it was my first dress that I tried on!
The ceremony was magical, the food was delicious, but the cake was unreal. We had so many compliments on our Dolce naked cake. I wanted a rustic cake with berries and we chose a classic vanilla cake with a salted caramel icing – YUM!
My favorite snack is popcorn, so naturally we had a popcorn bar with delicious toppings. I am also a huge cookie person, so my mom and I created our cookie bar (with rustic wooden logs and twinkling with lights).
September 2nd was the dreamiest day!
