Real Bride: Jenna H.

We adore working with each and everyone of our brides, and Jenna is one of those girls who we will always remember how incredibly sweet and kind she was to work with throughout her entire gown process! She had certain ideas about what her gown would look like and we found the one after only trying on a few. Shopping for accessories came just as easily as we completed her look. We also had the pleasure of meeting Jenna’s fiancé, Andrew, when he came in to pick out a beautiful Sara Gabriel bracelet for Jenna’s wedding gift. They are both so thoughtful and a perfect fit for one another. We hope you enjoy these photos and their story as much as we did!

From the bride: Shortly after Andrew returned from Afghanistan, he was out for a beer in Northern New York (where he was stationed, Fort Drum, also my hometown) with his friend. I happened to be showing my girlfriend around my hometown and we grabbed a drink to catch up at the same bar. We caught each others attention, he offered to buy me a drink, and the four of us talked the night away! Andrew was sweet to invite me to brunch the next morning to continue the party! We got to know each other better over eggs benedict (and mimosas!) and the rest was history.

Andrew left the Army the following spring, returned home to Kansas City for a career in software sales and soon after I was traveling through LaGuardia to spend his birthday with him. As fate would have it, on this delayed layover is where I casually chatted with two people who would eventually hire me for a marketing position after I moved to KC to be with my (fingers crossed) future fiancé. We made the 18-hour drive together to move my things, and began our exciting life together in KC! Thanksgiving came and we traveled back to NY to spend the holiday with my family. On this trip Andrew took me to the same street where we enjoyed brunch when we first met. A heavy snow was covering the ground but that didn’t stop Andrew from getting down on one knee in front of an unforgettable sunset over Lake Ontario to ask me to marry him!

A quick ten months of wedding planning later, and Andrew and I were wed in New York with our closest family and friends surrounding us with love and support! We are looking forward to a life of love, laughter and adventure together.
