Real Bride: Cloe C.

How We Met

Gabe and I both attended the Liberty Bowl in Memphis Tennessee in 2015. It was New Years Eve weekend and we both went down with friends to see the Kansas State Wildcats and Arkansas Razorbacks face off. I was in my Senior year at the University of Arkansas and Gabe was out of school and working in Kansas City. On New Years Eve we both happened to go to the famous Silky O’ Sullivan’s bar. It was there that Gabe first saw me walk in with some friends. He claims that he turned to his buddies and said, “Did you just see that girl?”

Little did he know some of his buddies had gone to high school with me and knew who I was. It wasn’t until after the ball dropped and the new year started that he finally got the courage to come up to me. We danced the night away and the rest is history. Safe to say that was a trip we would never forget!

Engagement: After a year and a half of dating, Gabe proposed to me at a winery in Kansas. After the proposal, Gabe took me to my parent’s house where our friends and family were waiting to celebrate with us. He even catered in my favorite Mexican food and had a margarita machine. My two favorite things!

Fun Wedding Facts:

We picked out our wedding venue based on the fact that it was centered around the dance floor. Gabe and I are both big dancers and we knew we wanted that to be the focal point of our wedding reception.

We had our first look in the courtyard outside the church. At the end of our first look the sprinklers went off one by one around us. Miraculously, neither of us got wet and no photography equipment was damaged! That is now one of my favorite moments of the whole day and makes for a great story!

Gabe and I are both Catholic, along with both our families. It was important to us to get married in a Catholic Church. We were married at Saint Agnes, which is the same church we attended together throughout our dating and engagement. It made the ceremony much more special to have it in a place that had been so meaningful to us.

My Dad and I took dance lessons leading up to the wedding. I highly recommend this to every bride! It was one of the highlights of the wedding and the guests raved about it.  It was also a great bonding experience with my Dad before I officially became a Mrs.
