Real Bride Blog: Sarah
All of our brides at Altar hold a very special place in our heart. We love to be there every step of the way and to watch our brides assemble their uniquely individual bridal look; from the perfect dress, the touch of sparkle and any other finishing touches our brides can dream up! Recently one of our brides was not only a real Altar Bridal beauty but also a part of the Altar Bridal family. We were absolutely thrilled to help and assist one of our very own consultants, Sarah Travis, perfect her look with a custom made wedding gown by Ila Bean.
From the beautiful bride: Granville and I met in college on a blind date at Sylas and Maddies in Lawrence. We both hit it off right away with our sense of humor and love for all things nerdy. The day that we decided to start dating, I brought Gran a cupcake from a local bakery in Lawrence. I gave it to him while we sat on the front steps outside his house.
This is how he proposed to me. I had just graduated from KU, he picked me up and drove me to his old college house and while we walked up the stairs to sit and talk about our time at KU he pulled out a cupcake that had a ring on it. I said yes!
Our wedding was intimate and had a theme of silver, succulents and raw wood. We had such a wonderful wedding day and felt catered to by our wonderful caterer, Classic Catering. And we had a relaxing honeymoon on the plaza at the Rafael. We were there for restaurant week and we are big foodies so it was a blast shopping and eating lots of yummy foods!
