Real Bride Blog: Krystan
At a wedding celebrating the love of two mutual friends, our real bride Krystan and her fiancé Greg met and began a journey that spanned over 8 years. They say all great things take time and patience. The great love of Krystan and Greg was celebrated with their own wedding this May. All their closest friends and family joined them for a day that highlighted the couples’ love of nature and incorporated the brides sense of style!
From the beautiful Bride: Greg and I met in college at Mizzou through mutual best friends, who got married in Kansas City 2 years ago. It took us 4 years and both of us leaving Columbia, MO and living in our hometowns of Kansas City and St. Louis, before we decided to really start dating. At that point I made the move to the other side of the state. Greg proposed on a Friday afternoon and I almost ruined it. A friend had offered me Cardinals tickets, and Greg knew if he declined them I would know something was up. We went to an exhibit at the history museum and then we were going to head down to the stadium. He instead asked if I wanted to go sit at the Grand Basin in Forest Park. I of course complained that I did not want to walk in my heels, but I went. Once we were sitting on the bench Greg started talking about how after 8 years he figured it was about time that I got a promise ring, of course trying to push my buttons. He then handed me the ring, and asked me to be his wife. I stared at it a long long time, too surprised to speak. It was the best day of my life.
Our wedding was inspired by Greg’s love of the outdoors. I wanted dark green leaves included and to be a large part of the floral and decor. We also wanted green as it is the color of the stone in my engagement ring.
Our favorite part of the big day was sitting back together and watching our friends and family have such a fun time! So much prep, planning, meetings, shopping for this one day and in the end the best part was we got to marry each other, but I did get to wear a really beautiful dress.
