We love everything about this sweet and timeless Kansas City wedding. Rebecca was such a happybride for us to get to work with and she wore a perfect lace gown with unique and intricate detail. We hope you enjoy these photos by The Grays Photography as much as we did!
From the bride: Scott and I are both social people and music lovers! We knew we wanted people to attend our wedding and just really enjoy themselves. From the get-go, we knew we wanted an awesome venue with live music to get the party started and keep people on the dance floor all night. We began with our wedding venue search the minute we returned from getting engaged in Pacific Beach (San Diego) last summer. We met with many great local KC wedding venues, but instantly fell in love with Feasts of Fancy at the Hobbs Building. Scott and I both share a lot of pride for the city we grew up in, and we wanted to share that love of Kansas City with our guests as well. Feasts of Fancy was absolutely perfect – an urban location in the West Bottoms of KC, a gorgeous outdoor courtyard for the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and a beautiful indoor reception venue.
With the venue booked, we then moved on to look for the perfect wedding band. As mentioned above, we both share a deep love of music. One of our favorite pastimes involves attending lives shows in KC and traveling to other cities to see the musicians and bands we love. We have also attended weddings with awesome live music, and those weddings have really stood out to us. We wanted to share our love of live music with all of the guests at our wedding. We found Diamond Empire Band very early in our search process. After seeing their free showcase events a few times, we knew they were the right fit. Check! Music and venue booked.
From there, we began to assemble what we considered the “Dream Team” of vendors for our special day. EVERYONE – from our amazing planner and florists, to our local bridal shops, to our photographers and videographers, to our cake specialist – were absolutely perfect for us. They truly made our wedding day so special. We couldn’t have asked for a better team.
Our wedding weekend flew by, but we were able to relax and enjoy ourselves (thanks again to our “Dream Team” of vendors who helped our wedding go off without a hitch) and we were able to provide our guests with exactly what we had hoped for – a great party! The venue and music were fabulous, and Scott and I had an absolute blast the entire weekend. We loved seeing all of our friends and family travel in for our wedding and enjoy themselves. One of our best friends was able to serve as our officiant, which made the ceremony very special for us. And, we took the time during the day of the wedding and days leading up to the wedding to enjoy every moment with each other. Sometimes, we would just step away and take it all in, pausing to take a break from the whirlwind of a weekend.
Overall, our wedding weekend was just perfect. I wouldn’t have changed a thing (maybe except for the rain shower that hit one hour before the wedding, but cleared up just in time for our outdoor ceremony). But hey, they say that rain is good luck. Scott and I will continue to share the love for our city and live music. Both brought us together and, we are sure, will continue to foster the amazing relationship we already share with each other.
