From the Bride:
How they Met:
We have a very romantic love story. Long story short, we met at a dreamy college party and the rest was history. After meeting, we were inseparable. We spent the next eight years together before deciding to get married. We were engaged in October of 2016 while traveling in Glacier National Park.
When planning our wedding, it was important to us to stay authentic to ourselves. Honestly, we just wanted a big party. The venue (Ironhorse Golf Club) was big and open with a large patio. It had the relaxed atmosphere we were looking for. Plaza Catering stood out from the start. The coordinator (Jenn) was hands down the most component coordinator we met throughout this process. She put together a menu of comfort food that was phenomenal.
Finding the Dress:
When picking my gown, I felt at ease stepping into Altar Bridal. I’m a curvier bride, and to be quite honest, there were a few other bridal shops that did not have a gown over a size 12 for me to try on. I just wasn’t happy or comfortable. Sara Sarles was absolutely fantastic. She pulled different things for me to try on while also looking for gowns to match my “want” list. I was able to try on dresses that were my size to really showcase what the gown would look like on my body. The experience was night and day difference at Altar compared to other shops.
The bridesmaids selected their gowns from Bella Bridesmaids, right down the street from Altar. Every bridesmaid picked a different gown, style and color. We stuck with natural and neutral colors. They were very patient with our selection process and thorough with follow-up.
I cannot say enough good things about Wild Hill Floral. She took my scatterbrained ideas and ran with it. I was stunned when I saw the florals on the day. Have you ever ordered flowers online and then you are a little disappointed when they arrive? The exact opposite occurred on our wedding day. I was asking my mom if we had actually paid for everything because it was so much more beautiful than I imagined.
We love sweets, so we knew a sweets table was a must. Price Chopper did a wonderful job providing cupcakes, brownie pops, and our cake. It was delicious and very reasonable on the price. We also incorporated candy into our sweets table. By using treat bags, guests were able to take a treat home as their wedding favor.
Advice for Brides:
We used a wedding coordinator for the big day. I’d highly recommend this. Let yourself and mom relax and enjoy the day. A wedding coordinator is worth every penny. Overall, I’d encourage every bride to go with your gut when it comes to the decisions. Often times, I made selections on vendors where I felt most comfortable. Surround yourself with love, not stress. Remember, this is your big day! Have a blast!
