From the Bride:
How they met:
Adam and I met on July 4th, 2015 in Houston, Texas where I’m from and where Adam was currently working. After two years of dating, we decided to move to KC (where Adam is from) in July of 2017.
Adam and I had plans to go see the famous Plaza Lights and enjoy dinner with Adam’s sister, Elizabeth and her husband Jason on December 15, 2017. I should have known something was up since Adam planned an evening AND was on time! Elizabeth and Jason were running late so Adam suggested we get on a carriage ride and enjoy the Plaza Lights from that view! (Little did I know he had planned this all along!) Adam got down on one knee and proposed while on the carriage ride and I said YES! After the ride was over, Adam suggested going to meet Elizabeth and Jason for a drink at the Sheraton Hotel. Once arriving, I was surprised with a party with family and our closest friends! The hotel also had a signature drink made with my favorite wine and Adam’s favorite whiskey. We enjoyed drinks, dinner and more celebration with friends. Who knew Adam could surprise me AND plan something so romantic? It was the best night ever!
Adam and I decided to plan a destination, as we both love the beach and it was a compromise – Adam being from KC and me being from Texas. It was a hard decision especially knowing that some of our family and closest friends would be unable to attend, but we’ve talked about doing a beach wedding for as long as we could remember. We worked with a travel agent and it was so easy, almost too easy! The reason I loved El Dorado Royale was because it was naturally beautiful and stress-free. I wanted to enjoy my engagement and not get caught up in the drama or details. Adam and I were surrounded by 30 of our closest friends and family and it was truly magical. The part we talk about the most is that the group had several days to get to know each other so by the time the wedding came around, everyone was able to dance and party. Everyone in the group enjoyed each other and got along great – it was the best we could have hoped for!
