From the Bride:
How we met:
Luke and I met while both living in Tampa Florida attending a tiny (500 students tiny!) Christian college. During the first few months, we explored Tampa together — watching March Madness at Buffalo Wild Wings, eating far too many Cuban sandwiches, canoeing on a nearby river, and walking around Disney World.
On a beautiful May evening about three years later, Luke and I went out for what I thought was going to be a nice dinner at one of my favorite restaurants — The Cheesecake Factory. Luke would eventually take me there, but that wasn’t our first stop of the night.
As we were driving to Nashville, Luke suddenly turned off the highway onto a service road that led to a picturesque rolling hills park (I quickly realized there was no way a Cheesecake Factory restaurant could be tucked into a dense forest). Luke pulled over, and we watched a picture slideshow that replayed some of our best memories together. Then, I noticed a path of rose petals that led into an open field — that is where he dropped to one knee and I said, “Yes.”
THEN we went to The Cheesecake Factory.
I enjoyed every second of wedding planning. I am one of those crazy people who LOVES making decisions, and I had so much help/support from my sweet mom and sister. Shopping for my dress with my mom and sister was a particularly special experience. Like many other girls, I had dreamed of the day I would get to shop for and wear a beautiful bridal gown. Altar Bridal made our experience special, fun and relaxing. The whole wedding planning experience was a great excuse to get all my girls together and celebrate, and it was also an opportunity for Luke and I to reflect on how blessed we are to be surrounded with such amazing, selfless, and encouraging friends and family.
Our wedding day was a beautiful day full of joy, family, and mini pies. We wanted the wedding to feel classy and romantic, and had a lot of wonderful vendors that helped us bring the vision to life. Our faith in God is the main focus of our lives and our relationship so we wanted to make that the main focus of our wedding day as well! One of the highlights of the day was when we sang hymns of praise with all of our guests during the reception. It was one of the happiest and most meaningful moments in my life. We also loved our alternative wedding cake and groom’s cake which were mini pies and Lamar’s doughnuts. The day perfectly encapsulated Luke and I as a couple.
