From the bride: Sam and I met in 2013, when we lived in neighboring apartments in St. Louis. Though we had seen each other in passing, it was six months before we crossed paths in the hallway and he asked me on our first date.
The next year, Sam’s job took him to Kansas City, and together we moved to a new city. One Thanksgiving, while back in St. Louis, Sam suggested we go for a morning walk in the woods. It was a beautiful, crisp fall day and about halfway through the hike he stopped, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. It was so special to be able to share this private moment, then return home to celebrate with family.
We wanted the wedding to be an intimate affair in the place where it all began. For the venue, we chose locations that were both traditional and meaningful. The Missouri Botanical Garden was a place near and dear to my family when I was growing up.
As we both love nature, we wanted to bring the outdoors in by incorporating touches of wood, moss, and whimsical florals. The color palette included hues of burgundy and blush.
The dress was everything I hoped it would be. The ivory lace had that romanticism I was looking for, while the custom low back added a bit of drama.
