It’s the time of year where everyone tends to be in the giving spirit, and here at Altar Bridal, we wanted to do our share! Although we are small, we knew we were capable of doing something mighty.
We’ve partnered with Harvesters and have created a competition: a Food Drive for a Dress. We asked you, Kansas City, to submit your heartfelt, quirky, and downright goose bump giving love stories to us. We then picked our 3 finalists. Each finalist is now competing to fill their Harvesters bins with as many non-perishable food items as possible.
Here’s how it works: each bride’s story is hanging above their designated bin in our store front window. Just stop in, say Hi, and drop some cans off in our bins. We are conveniently located across the street from a CVS and an Aldi!
Here are other easy ways to get involved:
Go like our Facebook page! For each new like we receive between now and November 30th, we will donate 1 can of food to our Harvesters bin (up to 1,500 cans). Want your “like” to help out one of our 3 brides competing for $1,500 towards a dress purchase – just post on our wall that your like is designated for a particular bride. If no designation is made, we will split all of those likes evenly among our contestants.
For every 3 cans brought into our store, you can earn a 1% discount up to a total 15% discount. This applies for any purchase and can be combined with other offers up to the 15% total (even sample sale gowns!!!)
Make a monetary donation. For every $1 donated in a bride’s name or just in general, 3 cans will be added to their count. We do ask that all monetary donations come in the form of a check, directly made out to Harvesters (that way you get the tax deduction).
The competition will end November 30th, 2011 at store close. The bride with the most nonperishables in their collection bin will be notified and receive $1500 towards the purchase of her wedding gown!
Now, come on in and help out these brides and our local community. Tis’ the season!
