ARE APPOINTMENTS REQUIRED?
Yes. We provide a one-on-one appointment experience at Altar Bridal. A confirmed appointment provides you an appointment with a dedicated and experienced bridal consultant that will assist you in trying on gowns and putting together the perfect wedding day look.
AT YOUR APPOINTMENT:
A stylist will be in the fitting room with you to assist you into the gowns – so, throw your modesty out the window, we’ve seen it all. Consider wearing undergarments that will be similar to what you would expect to wear on the day of your wedding. Nude undergarments are the way to go and a strapless bra is best. If you prefer to be more covered with a body shaper or spanx – more power to you!
WHAT ARE THE PRICES OF YOUR GOWNS AT ALTAR BRIDAL?
Most of the ‘traditional’ styles at Altar Bridal start at $1500 and go up from there. We do have a selection of sample gowns (to be purchased off the rack) and a limited selection of gowns for order that fall in the $1000 – 1500 price range.
DO YOU DISCOUNT YOUR GOWNS?
At Altar Bridal, we typically do not offer “buy today” or “love at first sight” discounts. We feel our designer gowns are priced appropriately for the quality and construction that is put into each gown. We also feel strongly that when purchasing your gown, you should not feel pressured in any way or be forced to decide, just to get a discount. That said, we often host SAMPLE SALES, TRUNK SHOWS, and other SPECIAL EVENTS. Each of these offer great opportunities to receive a designer gown at a discounted price.
DO YOU CARRY EACH DESIGNER’S COMPLETE COLLECTION?
Altar Bridal selects styles each season from our designers that best represent their entire collection. This approach allows us to have the right amount of styles without overwhelming our brides with too many options. We recommend that you check out our designer’s websites before your appointment to make sure you like what you see. If you find a gown and would like to know if we have it in the store, email us at email@example.com We also have access to borrowing our designer’s samples we do not currently have in store for a non-refundable fee.
WILL THE SAMPLE GOWN BE MY SIZE?
Our bridal gown stock pieces range between a bridal size 8 to 14. Because gowns are cut using each specific designer’s patterns and set of measurements, they run 1-2 sizes smaller than the sizes we are familiar with. Whether you are more petite or curvier, we will do our best to clip the dress in a way to give you the best idea of fit. We have fit brides needing gowns ranging from size 00 to size 22. We make it work and are diligent in ordering you the size that best fits you and is able to be tailored for a perfect fit.
HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN I BRING TO MY APPOINTMENT?
We always say “The more the merrier” but keep in mind we are a smaller boutique and are often accommodating 2-3 appointments at a time. Seating is limited, so if you plan on brining a big group, understand that there might not always be comfy seating for everyone. As long as the “more” stays “merry” in a crowded area, we are cool. And if you want our opinion, our experience is that bringing only close family & friends who respect and trust your vision for your look on the big day is best.
MY MOM OR BEST FRIEND CAN’T MAKE IT TO MY APPOINTMENT, CAN I TAKE PICTURES?
We do not typically recommend pictures for various reasons. The main one being that very few people actually like seeing themselves in a gown that doesn’t fit perfectly, taken with a phone camera that is not the best quality. It becomes more about how you feel about yourself in the picture and less about how you envision the gown on your wedding day. That being said, we understand that photos can be an important part of the process, so if you want to take some, feel free! We do allow Face timing as well, which may help family get a more accurate feel for the dress than a still photo.
As a bridal boutique, we look forward to bringing all of our brides a wonderful experience. If you have any special accommodation requests, please call and we will do our best to meet those needs.
