A Royal Affair

We are all wondering; who/what will Catherine Middleton wear on her larger than life day?  Here in Missouri, we will not know until 6 a.m. on April 29. Until then, we can only speculate.  One thing for sure is it will be a local (UK) designer.

Will it be traditional or modern? Will it be lace? How long will the train be?

Whatever the case, Kate’s wedding dress will be the must have dress for years to come! We are already starting to see it. Brides are thinking formal.  They are already shifting from a modern to a more traditional feel.  It’s all about exquisite fabrics and couture elements for the gowns.

Other than the dress, everything about weddings will be affected. Sparkly, monogrammed, over the top décor and invites are starting to take hold. Brides are becoming more respectful and aware of local designers.

Sapphire engagement ring

Sapphires are becoming more popular now that two princesses have worn the sapphire engagement ring.  It’s all about bride’s creating their own royal wedding feel. The atmosphere of a royal affair is what every bride wants. Prince William and Kate will go simple, by royalty standards. No glass carriage for Kate, and probably no 25 ft. long train. Prince William and Kate seem more down to Earth, and while it will be an extravagant affair, it will be toned down and intimate.  Which is what I think will be taken most by today’s brides, a more intimate wedding where your guest can feel regal as well.
