From the Bride:

How we met:

Mike and I are high school sweethearts. We were friends for a while before we started dating, but once we started, we never stopped – and here we are today!

The Proposal:

Mike proposed at our favorite restaurant, Café Provence in Prairie Village. It was the night before we were moving into an apartment together on the Plaza, and we were going out to celebrate. As we were walking into the restaurant, Mike took my hand and told me how much he loved me, got down on one knee and popped the question! I was totally surprised and so happy.

The Dress:

I had a vision of what I wanted in a wedding dress, and Sara stopped at nothing to make it happen for me. I had seen the Mikaella v-neck with illusion lace top and just couldn’t find anything that could beat it. Since I didn’t love the dress in full-lace that Mikaella was making, Sara came over and put the soft tulle skirt of another style on over the lace dress and I fell in love! Sara worked with the designer to take the top and bottom that I loved from two different styles and create my dream dress! I also wore the same veil my sister wore for her wedding last year that Sara made. She took lace from our mother’s wedding gown and carefully sewed it around the edge of the veil – such a special detail for my wedding day!

The Wedding:

We got married at our church, St. Ann, in Prairie Village, and our reception was at our country club, Indian Hills. Lindsey from Madison Sanders Events made our dream day a reality and made it run so smoothly! Our reception was full of dancing, laughter, good food and great drinks. Since we got married on Cinco de Mayo, we had a couple of signature margaritas and Mexican appetizers. My parents had a few surprises up their sleeve. They brought in our beloved college mascot, Willie the Wildcat, and our favorite sweet treat from Manhattan, Varsity Donuts!

The Honeymoon:

We spent the week after our wedding relaxing in the beautiful Turks and Caicos Islands. We did a whole lot of laying on the beach and by the pool, unwinding from the best day of our lives!
