From the Bride:
How they Met:
Brian and I met through mutual friends at one of our favorite hole-in- the-wall bars in Columbia, Snappers. Brian told me later on in our relationship that he knew he loved me when I walked through the doors.
One of our favorite things to do in Columbia is tailgate and attend Missouri football games. My family has had season tickets since the early 1960s – so this has always been a special tradition for me.
The day that Brian proposed, he told me that he had a work function to attend on campus, and then we would meet up with my family later on to tailgate and go to the game. After we parked and walked past many different school buildings on campus, we walked in front of the historic Columns which are the only remaining pieces left from a fire that destroyed Academic Hall in 1892. He got down on one knee and proposed. I was shocked! I literally could not stop laughing; strange, I know, but I was just so happy. Once we walked over to my family’s tailgate, my parents, his parents, and our friends were all there waiting for us. It was the most magical and special day.
Our wedding weekend was just perfect. Many people thought that getting married in December would be risky as far as weather is concerned, but it was in the mid-50s & sunny on the day of!
Everything about our wedding involved family and friends. Nothing grand or out of the ordinary, just being surrounded by our loved ones will always be the best part of our wedding.
