From the Bride:
How they Met:
Jerrod and I met in Lawrence, Kansas. We met at the Cadillac Ranch (a country bar). Jerrod was a door guy, and I took door money. We worked a lot of Friday and Saturday nights together. “The Ranch” had a lot of influence on our wedding day. Many members of our wedding party were part of the Ranch staff, and friends of ours. After our wedding ceremony and pictures, I threw on my cowgirl boots, and started the dance party!
Our first date was after a staff 4 th of July party. Jerrod and I went to watch fireworks on a bridge in Lawrence. We incorporated sparklers into our wedding to represent this day. When Jerrod proposed, he took me back to the bridge where our “fireworks” first began. After he proposed we went to Overland Park for a party, where all my friends and family were ready to celebrate!
As the wedding planning began I learned what was most important to Jerrod, and we worked together to make our day special for the both of us. One detail that was very important to Jerrod and I was our first look. We wanted our first look to be down the aisle. We wanted to share our love in that moment with all our wedding guests. This moment was everything I expected it to be. Jerrod was emotional, and I couldn’t stop smiling.
Another important detail to us was exchanging gifts to another on our wedding day. We each picked a gift and wrote a note on that day. I will forever look back on those notes and reflect on our love for each other on our wedding day. Notes have always been important in our relationship. Jerrod works nights, and we leave notes to show appreciation for one another when we don’t always get to see each other.
They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck, our day must have been very good luck! After our ceremony, there was lots of rain, but our umbrella pictures turned out to be some of my favorites!! These moments you can’t plan for on your wedding day, but they become the most memorable. We had so much fun enjoying all our friends and family who took the time to come and celebrate with us.
Thank you, Altar Bridal, for such an amazing wedding dress experience! I always felt welcome and loved when I was at your shop. I picked my dress after only trying on six dresses. My friends and family I brought with me fell in love with my dress instantly. I got SO many compliments on my dress that day, and still to this day!! One future bride even asked if it was too late to change her dress to mine!! Thank you for making me feel beautiful on my wedding day!!
