Real Bride: Paige Q.

From the bride: Russell and I met while we were in college at Baker University. He is an engineer and I work in pharmaceuticals so between buying a new house and a busy work schedule, Lisa was a lifesaver! We picked our venue because we liked how we could make it our own. It was an older building with the natural beauty throughout the entire space. We could use their tables, chairs and linens but other than that we were free to make the space our own. It really allowed for us to be able to make the vision we had in mind come to life in all aspects of our big day.

We both love spending time with our friends and family so our #1 goal was to make sure everyone enjoyed the night celebrating our marriage with us. It was a large wedding, around 375 guests. We each had 7 bridesmaids/groomsmen and 1 junior bridesmaid/groomsmen. Russell has a very big family that we’re both close to, 10 nieces and nephews, all part of the ceremony! My brother and cousins were all a part of the ceremony too, like I said, we love family!

There were a couple of things that made our day special.  First, we got married on the same day as my parents. We celebrated their anniversary as well as our wedding. Russell lost his dad a few years before we met. We wanted to make sure to remember him all day but Russell did not want to draw too much attention to him. We ended up leaving an empty seat, decorated with flowers in the front row so both Russell and I as well as his family could have something special in memory of him.

We had a unique menu catered by Queens Price Chopper, they did an awesome job working with our requests. We had Tri-tip steak, spinach artichoke chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, salad and rolls. We also had a variety of appetizers served before dinner started. Price Chopper did an awesome job coming up with unique ideas because we wanted something different. Our cake was traditional white but we had a variety of cupcakes; strawberry, lemon, pumpkin and red velvet. They had made over 150 flowers for our cake! The floral team at Price Chopper did an amazing job. I showed them some pictures, picked some colors that I liked and they took it from there. The flowers and decorations were beautiful, more than I had ever imagined!

The bartenders did an awesome job keeping everyone’s drinks full. Our DJ from Jukeboxx media played music that kept the dance floor busy all night. Even during our “late night snack,” people kept dancing!
