New York Bridal Fashion Week

We haven’t even been back from New York Bridal Fashion Week for a full week,  but we can’t wait to share with you all the great trends our designers are featuring in their latest collections. A few of these include: sleeves, bows, color and (you got it) Back Detail!

Sleeves

First of all, sleeves aren’t going anywhere and we are seeing them take new styles and shapes. Detached sleeve/arm-bands allow for greater range of motion as well as create that striking off the shoulder look our brides are dying to achieve! Bliss Monique Lhuillier showed the following gown of Mikado with a soft tulle skirt:

Flutter sleeves give a more ethereal and whimsical look and are an updated sleeve style! Below is another gorgeous gown by Bliss Monique Lhuillier made of lace and tulle.

Next, this all lace gown by Watters is made up of a strapless, A-line dress paired with a button-up, long sleeved topper. What a great look for that classic bride who also wants a very on-trend look!

Bows

With the next trend, wleek and simple silhouettes were accented with oversized bows! This classic yet modern style is super feminine, and  perfect for a bride wanting to make a statement. Modern Trousseau uses this beautiful, oversized bow of Thai Silk to finish off a soft blush, textured A-line gown.

Monique Lhuillier uses a draped Mikado bow detail down the back of this A-line gown. What a great way to add a little structure to contrast the softness of the tulle skirt.

Color

Designers showed beautiful dresses of color including nude, champagne and blush. After several season of blush brides, we are led to believe blush is possibly no longer a trend but a staple in bridal fashion and we shouldn’t expect to see it go anywhere anytime soon. Needless to say, we love the pop of color and want to share a few blush beauties. This Wtoo gown is a soft blush brocade that is perfectly complimented by its simple shape and fold-over neckline detail.

In the picture below, Hayley Paige uses layers of tulle to give this blush gown depth and variation. Romantic draping across the bodice and sleeves takes this classic silhouette to the next level.

Back Detail

Finally, if brides are looking for just one trend for their gown to have, it is great back detail! They want the back to have just as much excitement as the front and a wow from all angles and we don’t blame them. Hayley Paige achieves fun and flirty back like no other! Take a peek at the cute cut-outs she incorporates to give us a little extra style and sass.

Illusion backs create a great canvas for beautiful detail to pop, and Modern Trousseau created a Pinterest Perfect gown with their “Loved” embroidery detail.

We love these trends and can’t wait for our stock pieces to arrive so we can share with the brides of Kansas City. We will be adding trunk shows to our calendar of upcoming events, so stay tuned for more sneak peeks and exciting announcements to come!
